Mattie Furphy House Opening & Creativity Market Day

Mattie Furphy

Dear FAWWA member,

As you’ve probably gathered by now, Mattie Furphy House will be formally opened in 2010. We will hold a Creativity Market Place, open to all, featuring ‘tasters’ of the kind of activities planned for Mattie’s House in the future. We hope you will be apart of this exciting event.

You could play an active role in several ways.

Mattie Furphy House Opening

  • As this is a centre to foster ‘creativity beyond reason’ the Visioning Team has decided that it will be self-catered. FAWWA will provide ingredients, but if you love to cook/entertain you might like to prepare a favourite finger food for the evening. (we’re expecting about 50)
  • We need ‘meeters & greeters’ and security people for the evening. After the official opening we will invite guests to view Mattie’s copper work in Tom Collins House and so need ushers, and people to keep an eye on each building.

Creativity Market Day

  • You are welcome to set up a table and sell your own books anywhere around the two buildings. It would help if you could provide your own table. FAWWA will have a stall of second-hand books.
  • We have a couple of writing events planned but if you’d like to lead a short session of Wild Writing (the kind of Tuesday night event) we’d love to hear from you.

Any other suggestions for short bursts of ‘creativity beyond reason’ will be gratefully received!! We hope to have live music in The Hollow during the day, and are inviting people to bring their own picnic.

There will be lots of other ways that members can participate on both days. Please send us an email outlining your suggestions.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Trisha
